Doris E. Kryka

Doris Erna Kryka, lifelong Antigo resident, died Thursday, September 13, 2012 at Langlade Hospital at the age of 74. She was born May 11, 1938 in Antigo to the late Herbert and Elizabeth (Gallion) Below. She was a 1956 graduate of Antigo High School. She married Gerald "Chum" Kryka on February 10, 1956 in Antigo. He preceded her in death on May 14, 2001. Mrs. Kryka was a homemaker, and she enjoyed baking and cooking. She loved life, her children and grandchildren, traveling, and spending part of the winter in Yuma, AZ. Survivors include 2 daughters, Luanne (Ron) Boettcher of Antigo and Leah (Kevin) Marshall of Antigo; 2 sons, Mark (Margie) Kryka of Verona, and Mike (Julie) Kryka of Antigo; 2 sisters, Evelyn Piskula of Antigo and Betsy Below of Antigo; 3 brothers, Charlie Below of Antigo, Jule Below of Alabama, and Dave (Marlene) Below of Antigo; 7 grandchildren, Tony Boettcher, Amanda (Ryan) Boettcher-Spackman, Angela Boettcher, Mollie Kryka, Keltie Kryka, Steph Marshall, and Nick Marshall; great-granddaughter, Ava Spackman. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a brother, Ken Below and an infant granddaughter, Kathleen Kryka. A memorial service will take place at 12:30 P.M. on Monday at Strasser-Roller Funeral Home, with Pastor Debbie Pimm officiating. Visitation will be 10-12:30 Monday at the funeral home. Interment will follow the service at the Town of Neva Cemetery. Memorials may be directed to the Volm Cancer Center at Langlade Hospital.
