Dorothy Duffek, age 92, of Antigo died Monday, October 26 at her home under the care of LeRoyer Hospice and her family. Dorothy was born August 26, 1917 in Phlox, WI to the late Martin and Frances (Clark) Devine. Dorothy graduated from Mattoon High School in 1934. She went on to attend Langlade County Normal School. She then worked for an abstract company traveling many parts of Wisconsin. On August 5, 1939 Dorothy was united in marriage to Anton "Satch" Duffek at St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Phlox. He survives and resides in Antigo. Dorothy and Satch lived in various cities including Mattoon, Chicago, Mauston, and Milwaukee. They later returned to the Antigo area and formed the Duffek Sand and Gravel Business, where Dorothy oversaw the bookkeeping.Dorothy was a member of St. John Catholic Church.In addition to her husband, Dorothy is survived by 3 daughters; Jane (George) Shinners of Antigo, Patty (Mike) Wilson of Madison, Julie (Gary) Angus of West Columbia, SC; 2 sons; Paul (Anne) Duffek of Pompano Beach, FL and Madison, WI, and Peter (Kathleen "Bonnie") of Waukesha, WI ; 23 grandchildren and 28 great grandchildren; 2 sisters; Kathleen Curry of Appleton, WI and Elaine (Ronald) Rosandic of Placitas, NM; a brother Robert (Juaweice) Devine of Anderson, SC.Dorothy was preceded in death a grandson Anthony Duffek; 2 sisters; Florence Schlegel and Charlotte Person Lutz; and 5 brothers; Harold, Leonard, James "Marty", Patrick and David Devine.The funeral mass will be held at 11:00 AM on Friday at St. John Catholic Church. Father Charles Hoffmann will officiate. Visitation will take place in the gathering hall of the church from 10:00 AM until the service on Friday. Interment will be in Queen of Peace Cemetery.Memorial in Dorothy's name will be directed to All Saints Catholic School and Langlade Hospital Community Health Foundation.
