Edward G. Ourada age 92 of Antigo died Saturday at Eastview Medical and Rehabilitation Center. Mr. Ourada was born May 25, 1918 in the Town of Harrison to the late James and Mary (Tikalsky) Ourada. On June 21, 1941 he married Georgian David at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Antigo. Mrs. Ourada survives. Ed held many jobs including working as a baker for Stepanek Bakery and working for the Parsons Hatchery. In the fall of 1945, along with his brothers George and Rudy, Ed purchased the Dixie Lunch. He later bought his brothers' shares and operated the establishment with his wife, Georgian. Later his sons and daughter joined the family owned restaurant and today they continue on the long tradition. The Dixie Lunch has honorably been named the longest family owned and operated cafe in Wisconsin. Mr. Ourada served in the US Army during WWII. He was awarded the Purple Heart and fought in the Battle of the Bulge. He was a member of VFW and the American Legion.Mr. Ourada was a member of Ss. Mary and Hyacinth's Catholic Church, the Knights of Columbus and ZCBJ. Mr. Ourada's family was dear to him and he treasured all the moments they spent together. Mr. Ourada was an avid sports fan. He was dedicated to the Antigo Community in supporting Red Robin Athletics and sponsoring softball teams. He was an original season ticket holder for the Green Bay Packers at Lambeau Field and enjoyed trips to Milwaukee Braves and Brewers games. In addition to his wife, Mr. Ourada is survived by 3 daughters, Jeanne (Scott) Van Derhei of Montgomery , TX, Sue (Mark) Stanton of Antigo, Deb (Kevin) Brodziski of Antigo; 4 sons Larry (Peg) of Antigo, Gary "Gus" of Antigo, Steve (Kathy) of Edmonds, WA and Tom (partner Eddie Bermudez) of Madison; 11 grandchildren Mike Van Derhei, Shellie (Mike) Trudell, Lindsey Ourada, Tracie (John) Richling, Nicki Ourada, Maria, Sarah, and Shannon Stanton, Laura and Rebecca Brodziski and Sam Ourada; 7 great grandchildren Avery, Dawson, and Zoey Trudell, Monica Ourada, and Maddy, Izzy, and Gabby Richling; a sister Vi (Gene) Zeuske of Shawano, a brother Rudy (Cel) Ourada of Reedsville, WI.; and 3 sisters-in-law Violet Koudelka of West Salem, WI, Florence David of Antigo, and Audrey Ourada of Antigo.Mr. Ourada was preceded in death be a sister Albina Ourada and 7 brothers James, Ben, Harry, Charley, Emil, Joe and George.
