Edward Herbert Brandt

Edward Herbert Brandt, age 65, lifelong Bryant resident, died Ocotber 26, 2015 at Mount View Care Center in Wausau as a result of an auto/UTV accident which occurred on January 4, 2015. He was born December 30, 1949 in Antigo, son of the late Herbert Edward and Elva Elfrieda (Parson) Brandt. He married Christine Kolpack on April 10, 1976 at St. Peter Lutheran Church in Polar. He was a 1968 graduate of Antigo High School, and graduated from the UW-Madison Agricultural short course. Ed was a dairy farmer. In addition, he owned and operated Antigo Livestock/ Shipping, Ed's Trucking, and Brandt's Maple Syrup. He also operated Brandt's Sleigh and Wagon Rides, a three-generation business that was started by his parents, and is now ran by his children. He enjoyed providing unforgettable memories for so many families and groups. The Brandt family is proud to carry on this tradition. Ed's smile, spontaneity and shenanigans will surely be missed by all who knew him. Ed was a member of St. Peter's Lutheran Church. He was president of the Aid Association for Lutherans, Town of Polar supervisor, 27 year president of Antigo FFA Alumni, and president of the St. Peter's Church congregation. Survivors, include Christine, his wife of 39 years; a daughter, Shalynn (Rick) Domke of Antigo; 3 sons, Chad (Roseann) Brandt of Freemont, Jason (Jessica) Brandt of Antigo, and Dustin (Jacky) Brandt of Antigo; a sister, Mary Ellen (Dan) Kolpack of Marquette, MI; 2 brothers, Floyd (Tina) Brandt, and Cal (Cindy) Brandt, both of Bryant; 5 grandchildren, Ashton, Sawyer, Jacob, and Herbert "Herbie" Brandt, and Rayden Domke; 9 sister-in-laws and brother-in-laws, Cheryl (special friend Bob) Hayes, Charlotte (special friend Todd) Horrell, Calvin (Carol) Kolpack, Clyde (Traci) Kolpack, Colleen (Tim) Baraniak, Carla (Jerry) Nichols, Evelyn Budd, Pat Kolpack, Paula Wheeler; many nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by an infant granddaughter, Emma Jean Brandt; mother and father-in-law, Arcelia and Lloyd Kolpack; sister-in-law, Charlene Kolpack; and 5 brothers-in-law, Ernie Horrell, Orin Kolpack, Rick Budd, Mike Foster, and Archie Hayes; nephew, Charles Kolpack; great-nephew, Isaac Brady; and great-niece, Faith Foster. A funeral service will take place at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday at St. Peter's Lutheran Church in Polar, with Rev. Donald Engebretson officiating. Visitation will be 3:00-8:00 p.m. Tuesday at Strasser-Roller Funeral Home, and 10:00-11:00 a.m. Wednesday at the church. Interment will follow the service at St. Peter Lutheran Cemetery. A memorial scholarship will be established in Ed's name.
