Elaine E. Zirkle

Elaine E. Zirkle, of Bryant, died Wed. Sept. 23 at home. She was 75 years old.She was born Jan. 18, 1934 in Marathon Co., daughter of the late Theodore and Ruth (Drake) Draeger. She married William I. Zirkle on June 27, 1953 in Deerbrook. He preceded her in death on April 3, 2009. Mrs. Zirkle was a hard worker, employed at various potato farms in the area, Weinbrenner Shoe Factory, Frost Veneer, and Amron Corporation.When she was able, she enjoyed working in the garden and canning. She especially treasured time spent with her family and grandchildren.Survivors include a daughter, Susan Laycock of Bryant; son, Bill Zirkle of Antigo; 4 sisters, Margaret Domke of Antigo, Juanita Butler of San Diego, CA, Joanne Vogelsong of Deerborn, MI, Shirley Brown of Temperence, MI; brother, Ted (Addie) Draeger of Deerbrook; 5 grandchildren, Kelly (Sean) Luoma, Mike Zirkle, Chris (Kathy) Rine, Shawn (Melanie) Rine, Jim (Jo) Laycock; and 4 great-grandchildren, Evan Rine, Gage Luoma, Alaina Laycock, and Alexis Laycock; son-in-law Paul Laycock of Elton; 4 step grandchildren Craig, Justin, April, and Emily Laycock. In addition to her husband, William, she was preceded in death by a son, Robert, and a sister, Nancy Boers.
