Elaine Olk

Elaine E. Olk passed away on February 4, 2022 in Sarasota, FL at the age of 85. She was born on January 28, 1937 in Antigo to the late Henry and Emma (Belott) Brandt. She graduated from Antigo High School in 1955 and attended St. Mary’s Nursing School in Wausau becoming a registered nurse. Elaine worked at Madison General Hospital before moving back to Antigo and working at Langlade Hospital until she left the nursing profession to raise her family. Elaine was united in marriage to Richard “Dick” Olk on August 29, 1959 in Antigo. He survives. In addition to her husband, Elaine is survived by children Patrick (Anne) Olk, Kathleen (Peter) Curran, and John Olk, grandchildren Ryan Curran (Brianna), John P. Curran, Thomas Olk, and Megan Olk, brother Everett (Peg) Brandt, and many nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, Elaine was preceded in death by sisters Margie Probst, Germaine Brown and brothers Eugene Brandt and Carroll Brandt. She was a member of Peace Lutheran and served on the Altar Guild. She enjoyed playing bridge and spending time with her many friends. Most of all, she was devoted to her family who cherished her and all she did for them. A funeral service for Elaine will be held on Thursday, February 17, 2022 at 12:00 PM at Peace Lutheran Church. Visitation will take place prior to the service from 9:30 AM to 12:00 PM at the church. Following the service, interment will take place at Queen of Peace Cemetery.
