Elmer John Nickolai, age 82, of White Lake, died Sunday at KTCR – Eastview. Mr. Nickolai was born April 8, 1930 in Antigo to the late Elmer John, Sr. and Evelyn (Bargholt) Nickolai. On June 27, 1953, he was united in marriage to his high school sweetheart, Jacqueline Strong, at St. Matthew Lutheran Church in White Lake. She survives. The couple dairy farmed in the Town of Wolf River. Mr. Nickolai enjoyed time in the outdoors, especially cutting wood. He especially loved the time he spent with his family. His grandchildren and great-grandchildren brought much joy into his life. Mr. Nickolai was a member of St. Matthew Lutheran Church in White Lake. He was a Korean War Veteran, serving in the US Army from 1951-1953. In addition to his wife, he is survived by 5 sons, Nicholas of Phoenix, AZ, Daniel (Colleen) of White Lake, Jerome (Judy) of Birnamwood, Stephen (Penny) of White Lake and Randall (Merlyn) of Wausau; a sister Evelyn (Roy) Moore of White Lake 12 grandchildren, Amanda Nickolai, Matthew (Heather) Nickolai, Selina (Phil) Falesch, Ryan Nickolai, Jason Nickolai, Zackary Nickolai, Ashley (Ryan) Schilling, Tina (Sean) Jordan, Justin (Ashley) Nickolai, Joshua Nickolai (You), Joel Nickolai (Breann), and Jordan Nickolai; and 12 great-grandchildren, Chase, Austin, Adrian, Ethan, Haileigh, Layla, Jerrin, Alex, Peter, Karen, Sierra, and Trevor. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son Jeffrey and a daughter-in-law Jeanne Nickolai. Funeral services will be held on Saturday at 11:00 am at St. Matthew Lutheran Church in White Lake. Reverend Steven Vaudt will officiate. Visitation will be 10:00-11:00 am Saturday at the church. Military honors will follow the service. Interment will be in Langlade Cemetery.
