Emilee Heistad of White Lake, age 88, passed to her eternal home Tuesday, Jan. 22, 2013 at Bohlman Manor in Birnamwood. Mrs. Heistad was born June 24, 1924 in Hilsboro, KY to the late James and Clara Ruth (Choat) Hatfield. In 1940 she and her family moved to White Lake. She attended White Lake High School. In June of 1940, she was united in marriage to Malcom Swim. He preceded her in death as he served his country in WWII at the Battle of the Bulge. On October 5, 1946, she was united in marriage to Philip Heistad. He preceded her in death on September 24, 2012. The couple resided in White Lake, where they dairy farmed and Mrs. Heistad was a homemaker. She was a member of Four Corners Assembly of God Church in White Lake. Mrs. Heistad enjoyed quilting, baking, especially pies, tree farming and gardening. Survivors include 6 daughters, Bonnie (Jim) Holthus of Madison, Peggy (Pete) Swim of Madison, Nancy (Tony) Ramer of White Lake, Esther (Jeff) Hoffman of Rhinelander, Mary (Doug) Urban of Miladore and Becky (Jim) Stanton of Antigo; 3 sons, Myron (Diana) of Shawano, Joe (Darlane) of White Lake and Timothy (Doreen) of White Lake; sister-in-law Charlotte Hatfield of Kempster; and brother-in-law Rolf Hembach of Germany; 24 grandchildren; 34 great grandchildren; and 15 great great grandchildren. Mrs. Heistad was preceded in death by 1 infant son, Cleston Darrel; 3 sisters, Bethel, Belva, and Lena; and 4 brothers; Raymond, Allen, William and Oscar James. Visitation will take place 4:00-7:00 P.M. Friday at Strasser-Roller Funeral Home, and 9:30-10:30 A.M. Saturday at Four Corners Assembly of God. Following Saturday's visitation, interment will take place at 11:00 A.M. Saturday at Langlade Cemetery. A celebration of Emilee's life will follow the interment at 12:00 noon at Four Corners Assembly of God Church, with Rev. Marvin Kindle officiating.
