Emily "Millie" O'Brien, age 91, of Bryant died Wednesday at her home. Mrs. O'Brien was born February 5, 1920 in Bryant to the late Gustav and Emma (Rusch) Hartman. She attended Malcolm Grade School and was a graduate of Antigo High School. She married Gordon O'Brien in 1948. He preceded her in death. Mrs. O'Brien was a homemaker and along with her husband operated a beef farm in Lily. Upon retirement, the couple retired to Bryant where the Hartman family had homesteaded. Mrs. O'Brien was an avid Milwaukee Brewers fan. She followed the stock market and the economy. She was a wonderful baker and enjoyed visits with family and friends. She was also fond of her "Kitty" that kept her company. Mrs. O'Brien was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church in Pickerel, where she was also a member of the 50's Club. She is survived by nieces and nephews; Nancy (Emil) Matuszewski of Antigo, Mabel (Don) Graves of Lily, Paul (Mary Ann) Sekaney of Bryant, Jim (Carol) Sekaney of Wausau, Sharon Prange of Sheboygan, June (Chris) Christensen of Green Bay, Micheal (Theresa) Hartman of Antigo, Larry (Trudy) Hartman of Antigo and Mary Ann (Larry) Noskowiak of Antigo. She is also survived by many great nieces and nephews and their families. In addition to her husband and parents, Mrs. O'Brien was preceded in death by a sister Mabel Sekaney, and 4 brothers; Walter, Elmer, Harold and Rollen Hartman; nieces; Elaine Schroepfer, Grace Semph and a nephew George Sekaney. Funeral services will be held on Monday at 12:00 noon at St. John's Lutheran Church in Pickerel. Reverend Michael Mathey will officiate. Visitation will be from 10:00 AM until the service at the church. Interment will be in Elmwood. A memorial will be established in Mrs. O'Brien's name. Strasser-Roller Funeral Home is assisting the family.
