Ervin W. Meyer

Ervin W. Meyer, age 82 of Antigo died Saturday, October 10, 2009, at Wausau Aspirus Hospital. Ervin was born September 30, 1927 in the Town of Almon, Shawano County to the late Walter and Erna (Jahn) Meyer. Mr. Meyer married Wilma Lucht on February 9, 1949 at the Peace Lutheran Parsonage in Antigo. She survives. Ervin dairy farmed for many years along with his son and wife. He served on the board of directors for the Farm Bureau, was member of the school board of Selenski School, and a director serving the Antigo Shipping Co-op. Ervin was a member of Peace Lutheran Church where he served as an usher and elder. He liked to fish and was an avid Green Bay Packer fan. Ervin also enjoyed dancing, polka music and reading. In addition to his wife Mr. Meyer is survived by a son Robert (Ruth Ann) Meyer of Antigo, a brother Rudy (Dixie) Meyer of Appleton, WI; and a granddaughter Pamela and fiancé Chris Brinkman of Memomonie, WI. Mr. Meyer was preceded in death by a brother Edward Meyer and a grandson Curtis Meyer. Funeral service will be Tuesday at 11:00 AM at Peace Lutheran Church. Visitation will be Monday from 4:00-8:00 PM at Strasser-Roller Funeral Home and Tuesday from 10:00 AM until the service at the church. Burial will be in Elmwood Cemetery. A memorial will be established in his name in lieu of flowers.
