Eunice Houdek, age 95, passed away May 16, 2021 in Antigo after struggling with dementia. Eunice was a lifelong resident of Antigo, she was born on June 8, 1925 to the late Carl and Meta (Knaack) Now. Eunice graduated from Antigo High School in 1943. On December 15, 1948 Eunice married Eugene Houdek at Peace Lutheran Church. Beyond being a homemaker Eunice worked at Sheldon's, Frost Veneer, Shoppers Guide, City Directory, the U.S. Census Bureau, and as a Walmart Greeter until she was 91 years old. Eunice taught Sunday School and Vacation Bible School at Peace Lutheran for 36 years; she was a member of Peace Lutheran Church Prayer Circle and Dorcas Society. For almost 25 years Eunice was involved with Someone Cares Group, a group that visited shut ins. In addition to her husband Eugene, of 72 years, Eunice is survived by 2 daughters Jeanne (Keith) Antoniewicz of Hortonville, Joanne (Randy King) Degner of Antigo, 3 Sons, Gary (Faith) Houdek of Sun City Center, Florida, Larry (Darcie) Houdek of Deerbrook, Daniel (Cindy) Houdek of Antigo, grandchildren; Stephanie (Paul) Kling, Amanda (Dan) Hoechst, Paula Servin, Michael Musolff (fiance Mindy Reyes and her daughter Kya), Megan (Wes) Williams, Lindsey Houdek (Jesse), Brandon Houdek (fiance Nicole), Molly Houdek, Nicholas Houdek, Matthew Houdek, and great grandchildren; Norah and Anna Kling, Brady and Finley Hoechst, Abigail and Justin Servin, Alyson (Brandon)Buntrock, Mikah Musolff, Liam and Cole Williams, Bode and Goldie Houdek, great great grandchildren; Boston and Kaslyn Buntrock, a sister; Pat Frisch of Green Bay, and many nieces and nephews. Eunice was preceded in death by brothers; Maynard Now, infant brother Donald Lee Now, and a sister Arlene Boettcher. Funeral Services will be Thursday May 20 at 11:00 AM at Peace Lutheran Church. Reverend David Karolus and Jeff Nielson will officiate. Visitation will be from 9:30-11:00 at Peace Lutheran. Services will also be live on Strasser-Roller Funeral Home Facebook. The family extends a special thank you to Pastika, Aspirus at Home Nursing, Doctors; Deep, Kneeland, and Flowers, The Bay at Eastview, Care Partners and LeRoyer Hospice for their kindness and care during Eunice's final months. Strasser-Roller Funeral Home is assisting the family.
