Evalyn Marie Pozorski

Evalyn Marie Pozorski died Monday, September 08, 2014 at Care Partners Assisted Living in Antigo. She was 86 years old. She was born November 15, 1927 in Detroit, MI, daughter of the late Matt and Josephine (Oresnik) Skusek. She married James Paul Pozorski on June 24, 1961 in Dubuque, Iowa. Mr. Pozorski preceded her in death on November 24, 2011. She was a homemaker, raising her family in South Milwaukee, and residing in Washington State from 1968-1970. She moved to Deerbrook in 1979. She enjoyed arts and crafts, especially plastic canvas and crochet. She exhibited her wares at craft fairs, and also sold crafts at the Elcho ice cream shop. She was a sports enthusiast, and even participated in roller derbies in the 1950s. She loved collecting cardinals. She especially enjoyed the time she spent with her family. They will always remember her sense of humor and her laugh. Survivors include a daughter, Linda (Christopher) Berg of Bryant; a son, Gregory Pozorski of Summit Lake; a sister, Shirley (Al) Churchill of Spanaway, WA; 5 grandchildren, Jonathon Pozorski of Appleton, Justin Berg (fiancé Samantha Kochamba) of Bryant, Brandon (Jenalea) Berg of Bryant, Cameron (Luisa) Berg San Diego, CA, and Kaelyn Berg of Bryant; 4 great-grandchildren, Edwin Paul Pozorski, David Scott Berg, James Edward Berg, and Alexander James Berg. In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by a sister, Josephine Heuter, and 2 brothers, John Skusek and Edward Skusek. A memorial service will take place at 7:00 p.m. Thursday at Strasser-Roller Funeral Home, with Rev. Dr. Wes Jedras officiating. Visitation will be 4:00-7:00 Thursday at the funeral home. Inurnment will be at 9:00 a.m. Friday at Lakeside Cemetery in Summit Lake.
