Evelyn Schlundt

November 26, 1935 — May 13, 2011

Normal 0 Evelyn Adeline Schlundt, age 75, died Friday at Evergreen Terrace under the care of Le Royer Hospice, the Evergreen staff, and her family. Evelyn was born November 26, 1935 to the late Max and Adeline (Seeman) Parsons in Bryant, WI. Evelyn graduated from Antigo High School in 1953. On March 2, 1957 she married Eugene Schlundt at St. Peter Lutheran Church in Polar. As Gene served in the US Airforce, the family lived in Germany, Wyoming, Texas, Hawaii, and Utah. During that time Evelyn worked in civil service and they began raising their family. Later they returned to Antigo where Evelyn was employed by the City of Antigo as Deputy City Clerk. She then worked for the Antigo High School as secretary to the administrator. She also recorded minutes for the Unified School District of Antigo School Board and was the clerk of the Town of Price. She was a member of St. Peter Lutheran Church in Polar and an auxiliary member of Grace Lutheran Church in Key West, FL. She was an organist at both churches and served as secretary of the Lutheran Women's Missionary League. She lived her faith and by that example, her family continues to live by that light. Evelyn and Gene enjoyed winters spent in Cudjoe Key, FL where they were very active in serving the community. Evelyn was devoted to preparing and serving food at the Soup Kitchen in Key West and she volunteered in Antigo at the local food pantry. She was a generous woman whose kind acts were many and humble. Her family was a great treasure to her. Evelyn loved to watch her children and grandchildren participate in sports and music. She loved to cook for family, friends and those in need. In addition to her husband, Gene, of Antigo, Evelyn is survived by 2 sons; Terrell (Jean) of Oconomowoc, WI and David (Jenny) of Deerbrook; 8 grandchildren; Brittany, Brianne, Terrell Jr. "TJ", Melissa (fiancé Tom Bemis), Matt (Kaitlin Racine), Morgan, Maria, and Alex; a sister Maxine Muench; and 2 brothers; David (Sherri) Parsons of Pickerel and Lyle (special friend Judy Stull) of Pickerel. Evelyn was preceded in death by a son Russell. Funeral services will be Wednesday at 11:00AM at St. Peter Lutheran Church in Polar. Reverend Donald Engebretson will officiate. Visitation will be Tuesday from 4:00PM until 8:00 PM at Strasser-Roller Funeral Home and Wednesday from 9:30 AM until the service at the church.Interment will be in St. Peter Church Cemetery.
