Everett Lee Brandt, age 83, died Thursday, February 8, 2024 at his home under the care of his family and Compassus Hospice. Everett was born on August 9, 1939 in Polar, WI to the late Henry and Emma (Belott) Brandt. At the age of 5 the family moved to Antigo where Everett attended grade school and high school.
On September 11, 1970, he was united in marriage to Margaret “Peg” Fuller in Eagle River, WI. He spent the rest of his life in Antigo working at Duffek Sand & Gravel and later retiring from Kretz Lumber Co.
Everett enjoyed hunting and fishing with his buddies and especially spending time with his grandchildren and attending their sporting events. If there was ice at the rink you could usually find Everett watching one of his grandchildren play hockey.
In addition to his wife Peg, Everett is survived by a son Kevin (Sue) Brandt of Germantown, WI, a daughter Tara of Wittenberg, four grandchildren; Patrick Brandt of Milwaukee, Kaitlin Rhode Wierzbach and her husband Zach of Land O’Lakes, FL, and great grandson Liam Everett Wierzbach, Jacob Rhode and his wife Jordan of Green Bay, Carson Rhode of Antigo, and a brother-in-law Richard Olk of Bass Lake. He is further survived by extended family members; Kelley and Jerome Steger, Ali Fuller and her family, Jenna (Fuller) Hall and her family, John Majewski, John Rhode and dear friend Kathy Meidam.
In addition to his parents, Everett was preceded in death by 2 sisters and their husbands; Margie (Karl) Probst, Germaine (Ray) Brown, and a sister Elaine Olk; brothers; Eugene “Geno” and Louise Brandt, Carroll Brandt, and a brother-in-law and his wife Bill and Sandi Fuller.
A memorial mass will be held on Saturday, February 17 at 11:00 AM at SS Mary & Hyacinth Catholic Church. The Very Reverend Joel Sember will officiate. Visitation will be Friday from 4:00 PM until 7:00 PM and Saturday from 9:30 AM until 10:45 AM at Strasser-Roller Funeral Home. Interment will be in Queen of Peace Cemetery.
Memorial contributions in Everett’s name may be directed to Antigo Area Youth Hockey Association or Senior Center of Langlade County.
