Fern A. Anderson

Fern A. Anderson, lifelong area resident, died Sat. Nov. 28 at Langlade Hospital under the care of her family and LeRoyer Hospice. She was 91 years old.She was born May 23, 1918 in Polar, daughter of the late John and Clara (Schmeisser) Holmes. She married Harold Anderson on June 15, 1936 in the Antigo Methodist parsonage. Harold preceded her in death on Dec. 2, 1999.A 1936 Antigo High school graduate, Mrs. Anderson was a homemaker. She was also employed at Langlade Hospital and Gold Coast. After retirement, she lived at Pelican Lake for 10 years before returning to Antigo. She later moved into the Pine Meadow community, where she met many dear friends. She loved crocheting, making afghans, playing cribbage, and following the Green Bay Packers. She especially treasured time spent with her family.Survivors include 3 daughters, Janice (Dan) Murray of Antigo, Connie (Ken) Schmiege of Medford, Lynette (Rick) Mundt of Milwaukee; a son, Jim (Carol) of Brooksville, FL; 12 grandchildren, Patti Bacher, Mike, Peter, and Matt Murray, Lisa Higgins, Charlie Anderson, Lynette Soloman, Rhonda Barrera, Anne and Sarah Schmiege, Dawn and John Mundt; 13 great-grandchildren; and 4 great-great-grandchildren.In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by a daughter, Joan Riske; a sister, Virginia Holmes; 4 brothers, Allan, Oliver, Lyle, Maenard; and a great-grandson, Nicholas.
