Florence Ruth Shepherd

Florence Ruth Shepherd, age 100, of Green Bay and formerly of Antigo, passed away June 11, 2026 at Century Ridge in Green Bay.

Florence was born on March 28, 1926 in Chicago, IL to the late Charles and Elsie (Drake) McNutt.

She was united in marriage to Linvol Shepherd on October 3, 1942 in Chicago. He preceded her in death in 1999.

Florence and her family resided in White Lake and then Forest Center, MN for ten years, then White Lake. She later moved to Antigo and most recently Green Bay to be near her son Charles.

Florence was a member of Faith United Church of Christ where she helped with many church events and funeral dinners. She volunteered at the nursing home and was always helping others in any way she could. She enjoyed crafting and going for walks. Florence will be lovingly remembered for her pleasant smile she would share with others.

Florence is survived by a son Charles “Chuck” Shepherd of Green Bay, a daughter Judith Horvath of Oklahoma City, OK, 8 grandchildren, 15 great grandchildren, 4 great great grandchildren, 2 brothers, Bill McNutt and Jerry McNutt and many nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents and husband, Florence was preceded in death by a daughter Elaine Dempster, a son William Shepherd, a grandson Steven Horvath, 3 sisters: Beth Jeske, Marge Jeske, Jane Egger and 2 brothers: John McNutt and Bob McNutt.

A memorial service will be held on Wednesday, June 17 at 2:00 PM at Faith United Church of Christ. Visitation will be at the church prior to the service from 1:00 PM until the service. Interment will be in Town of Norwood Cemetery. Reverend Wes Jedras will officiate.

In lieu of monetary gifts to the family, donations can be directed to the Alzheimer’s Association, American Cancer Society, and American Heart Association.
