Gail Marie LeVeque, age 73, of Antigo died September 29, 2021 at her home under the care of her family and LeRoyer Hospice. Gail was born December 1, 1947 in Antigo to the late Gerald and Katherine (Steinfest) Schmiege. Gail was a graduate of Antigo High School class of 1965. On November 16, 1967, she was united in marriage to James LeVeque. Gail enjoyed raising her two boys. She was always eager and willing to join in the fishing and hunting that the family so loved. As a “hockey mom”, Gail contributed numerous hours to supporting her boys and the Antigo Area Youth Hockey Association. Because of her dedication to the organization, Gail was inducted into the AAYHA Hall of Fame. Gail was a member of Calvary Lutheran Church. As her sons grew, Gail entered into the family business in a greater capacity, as an owner and Vice President of Antigo Rendering Works. She also had ownership in Rosholt Fur Foods, Antigo Van, and ARRF. As an area businesswoman, she was a member of Antigo Business and Professional Women’s Club. Her family was her greatest treasure. As a mom she was always there for her sons. As a grandmother, her grandchildren brought her great joy, and she was so very proud of them. In addition to her husband, Gail is survived by a son James “Jamie” LeVeque and daughter-in-law Kelly (Kubacki) LeVeQue of Antigo, grandchildren: Evelyn and Riley LeVeque, brothers-in-law: Fred (Peggy) LeVeque and John (Valerie) LeVeque, nieces: Katie LeVeque and Hannah LeVeque, sisters: Sandy Spanbauer of Crandon, Cheryl Theisen of St. Cloud, Patricia (James) Blaha of Eagle River, Becky (Wayne) Ripley of Green Bay, Michele (Rick) Bolen of Waupaca, and many nieces and nephews. Gail was preceded in death by her son Robert and a sister Katherine “Kassy” Barta. Private services will be held.
