Gail Marie Wagner

Gail Marie (Mellantine) Wagner of Kempster, age 80, was called home to the Lord on Saturday, June 5, 2021. She was at her home under the care of her family and LeRoyer Hospice. Gail was born on December 24, 1940, in Milwaukee to the late Allan and Ann Mellantine. Gail was united in marriage to Wayne Wagner on May 26, 1962, in Milwaukee. She was a graduate of Pulaski High School in Milwaukee, class of 1958. She attended Milwaukee Vocational and Adult School earning a degree in Cosmetology. Gail worked at Lasage Beauty Salon in Wauwatosa, managed a beauty salon in Brookfield, and worked at the Boston Store Salon in Milwaukee. Gail loved being a homemaker, wife, and mother to her family. She enjoyed gardening, her flowers, being at the lake, and spending time in the UP. She was eager to share the work of God, believed in Right to Life, and supported various organizations. In addition to her husband, Wayne, Gail is survived by 3 children: Wendy Meilahn of Prior Lake, MN, Kimberly Schmidt of Big Rock, TN, Kelvin (Lori) Wagner of Kempster, grandchildren: Danielle and Alyssa Meilahn;Jessica, Megan, Lauren, Emily Schmidt; Lili and Kallie Wagner, her siblings: Karen Cooper of New Berlin and Richard Mellantine of Waukesha, WI, and many nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, Gail was preceded in death by a brother Allan Mellantine, Jr., a great grandson Roman Fitts, and a brother-in-law Glen Cooper. Funeral services will be held on Friday, June 11 at 12:00 noon at Strasser-Roller Funeral Home. Pastor Shane Wheeler will officiate. Visitation will be from 10:00 am until the service at the funeral home. Interment will be in Kempster Cemetery. Memorials in Gail’s name will be directed to Langlade County Humane Society.
