Gale Eugene Brede

Gale Eugene Brede, long time Summit Lake resident, died unexpectedly of a heart attack on Wednesday May 19, 2016 at his farm. He was 81 years old. Gale was born on March 6, 1935 to the late Arthur and Gladys (Hein) Brede. He was a US Army Veteran, having served from 1958-1960. Gale was a dairy and beef farmer and also had various jobs in construction, hauling, and logging. He enjoyed listening to polka music, playing baseball and was a fan of professional wrestling. He was a member of St. Luke Lutheran Church in Elcho. Survivors include 2 sisters Marjorie (Richard "Rip") Hartjes of White Lake and Bonnie (Richard) Jerzykowski of Menasha; nieces and nephews, Kelly Hartjes of Waupaca, Mike (Julie) Hartjes of Summit Lake, Mark (Vivian) Hartjes of CA, and Al Hartjes of Kimberly; grand nieces and nephews; Dylan, Hunter, Cody, Megan, Alicia, and Kim. In addition to his parents, Gale was preceded in death by 2 nieces Linda and Lisa Hartjes. A funeral service will take place at 10:00 a.m. Tuesday at Strasser-Roller Funeral Home, with Rev. Jerome Hahn officiating. Visitation will be 9:00-10:00 a.m. Tuesday at the funeral home. Interment will take place at 10:00 a.m. Thursday at White Clay Lake Cemetery in Cecil.
