Gary Allan Piskula passed away unexpectedly on December 2, 2024. Gary was born in Milwaukee, Wisconsin on March 15, 1950 to Jerome and Evelyn (Below) Piskula. He grew up in the Milwaukee area and graduated from Greenfield High School. While in high school Gary was a great athlete, and participated in football and wrestling. After graduation Gary served in the Air Force from July 31, 1969 - July 30, 1973. At the time of his discharge he was a Sergeant. For his service he earned the Vietnam Service Medal, Vietnam Campaign Medal, and the National Defense Service Medal. Throughout his life Gary lived in the Milwaukee area, Las Vegas and Antigo, where he lived at the time of his death.
Over the years Gary had a variety of interests including riding his Harley Davidson motorcycle, hunting, fishing, camping, playing pool and gambling. He enjoyed watching the Green Bay Packers and Milwaukee Brewers. He was always willing to lend a helping hand to friends and family when they needed it. He genuinely loved his family, and was especially proud of his granddaughters.
Gary is survived by his son Todd (Brenda) Piskula and his five granddaughters Kayla, Emily, Hailey, Brooke and Chloe Piskula all of Weston, siblings Jan DeZur (Phil Sberna) of Antigo, Jeryl Piskula of Mosinee, Robert (Cindy) Piskula of Antigo, and several nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents Jerome and Evelyn Piskula, brother Wayne Piskula, and brother-in-law Rennie Szepanski.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, December 7, 2024 at Strasser-Roller Funeral Home in Antigo from 1:00 PM-3:00 PM with a service at 3:00 PM.
In lieu of flowers, a memorial will be established and may be directed to Gary's family.
