Gary Lee Drexler

December 16, 1953 — April 30, 2024

Gary Lee Drexler, age 70, of Lily entered into his eternal home on Tuesday, April 30, 2024.

Gary was born on December 16, 1953 in Antigo, a son of the late Bernard and Viola (Shepherd) Drexler. He attended Sunnyslope Grade School and was a graduate of White Lake High School.

On April 17, 1976, Gary was united in marriage to Melody Ann Shampeau. She preceded him in death on January 18, 2023.

Gary was a logger for several years and then became a drywaller, eventually operating his own business.

He had a great love for the outdoors, hunting, fishing, camping and gardening. He enjoyed sharing his passion for nature with his children. He will be remembered with a smile for his goofy sense of humor and dad jokes.

Gary was a member of Christ Central Church in Antigo, where he served as an usher and lead on security detail for many years.

Survivors include a daughter Stacy (Michael) Hollenbeck, a son Kent Drexler, 2 brothers: Michael (Holly) Drexler, Carl (Sandy) Drexler, and 2 sisters: Delilah Ross and Carol (Terry Braun).

In addition to his parents and wife, Gary was preceded in death by a brother-in-law Keith Ross.

In honoring Gary’s love of nature, a time of fellowship and worship will be held on Friday May 31, 2024 beginning at 11:00 AM at Jack Lake Lodge at Veterans Memorial Park. Pastor Danny Pyeatt will be leading worship. A celebration and picnic will follow until 4:00 PM. Please bring a chair if you are able.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to Christ Central Church in memory of Gary.
