Genevieve "Genny" Borneman

On February 13, 2022 we lost our Mom, Grandma, Great Grandma, Great Great Grandma, Sister, Aunt, and friend who was a very special person in all of our lives when Genevieve Kathryn Borneman was called to her heavenly home at the age of 95. Genny was born on April 10, 1926 in Gleason to the late Karl and Theresa (Kluball) Kegler. She married Ralph Borneman on August 24, 1946 at St. Matthew Lutheran Church in Deerbrook. He preceded her in death on December 28, 2019. Along with her husband Ralph, Genny owned and operated Superior Cleaners for over 12 years. She also worked at the shoe factory in town. She was a talented seamstress. She enjoyed doing alterations and sewing wedding dresses and hats. She created beautiful wreaths and swags from princess pines. Genny loved cooking and baking for family as well as for friends at the many parties she hosted. She was known for her Texas sheet cake. She also enjoyed fishing, camping, gardening, and spending time at the cabin. She was an active member of St. Matthew Lutheran Church in Deerbrook, serving on the altar guild, participating in the Ladies Aid, and teaching Sunday school. Survivors include 2 sons, Gary (Joan) Borneman of Schofield, and Mark (Kathy) Borneman of Deerbrook, brothers, Matt (Everelda) Kegler of Oregon, Harold (Susan) Kegler of Fernando Beach, FL, sister Eva (Joe) Novak of Clintonville, 4 grandchildren, Kristin Borneman, Brett (Stephanie) Borneman, Mike (Tierney) Wasmundt, and Krystle Wasmundt; 9 great grandchildren; and 3 great-great granddaughters. In addition to her parents and husband, Genny was preceded in death by a son Duane Borneman and 2 grandsons, Jason and Jesse Borneman, sisters, Pearl Gerdes, Muriel Parsons, and Marcella Raab, brothers, Earnest Kegler, Kenneth Kegler, and Clifford Kegler. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to St. Matthew Lutheran Church in Deerbrook. A memorial service for Genny will be held on Friday, February 18, 2022 at 11:00 AM at St. Matthew Lutheran Church in Deerbrook with Pastor Paul Radke officiating. Visitation will take place prior to the service at the church from 9:30 AM to 11:00 AM.
