George John Frederick Schuhmacher

April 16, 1938 — September 3, 2024

George John Frederick Schuhmacher, age 86, of Antigo, passed away Tuesday, September 3, 2024 at his home.

George was born on April 16,1938 in Rockford, IL to the late George John Frederick and Helen Jane (Johnson) Schuhmacher.

George was united in marriage to Beverly Schuhmacher, the couple later divorced. He was married to Mae “Dolly” Pelke on January 2, 1996. She preceded him in death in 2005.

George spent his childhood in Illinois and moved to Wisconsin in 1977, residing in White Lake and then moving to the Town of Antigo.

He served in the US Air Force. He was employed for many years at Kolbe & Kolbe in the lumber department.

George was a member of Ascension Lutheran Church in Antigo.

Survivors include his children; Brenda Mosher of Antigo, Bridgette (Jason) Boehm of Wausau, Pedro Schuhmacher (Mary) of Polar, Blake (Tina) Schuhmacher of Antigo, stepchildren; Robert (Amy) Stegall and Terry Richardson, his dear friend Donna Lindner, and many grandchildren and great grandchildren.

In addition to his wife Dolly, his parents, and first wife Beverly, George was preceded in death by daughters; Jeanette Schuhmacher and Wannetta Messer.

A graveside service will be held on Tuesday, September 10th at 10:30 AM at Town of Polar Cemetery. Military honors will take place at the graveside.

Strasser-Roller Funeral Home is assisting with the services.
