Geraldine Theresa Cox

Geraldine Theresa Cox, of Mattoon, passed away on October 18, 2020 at Rosemary Manor at the age of 82. Geraldine was born in Wisconsin on December 26, 1937 to the late Floyd and Kathryn (Manyo) Sigmund. She graduated from Mattoon High School and went on to work at NorthStar Casino in the Kitchen. Geraldine married Clarence Cox on March 30, 1955 in Franklin, WI and he preceded her in death on August 29, 2008. She enjoyed decorating for the holidays and feeding birds, especially hummingbirds. Geraldine was a talented knitter. She also attended Holy Family Parish in Mattoon. Geraldine is survived by sons; Christopher Cox of Antigo and Layton (Wendee) Cox of Mattoon, daughter; Barbara (Mark) Pierzchalski of Birnamwood, grandchildren; Christopher Cox Jr, Charles (Heidi) Cox, Katie (Turner) Rickert, Bradley Cox, Casey (Jenni) Cox, Courtney Cox, Mark Pierzchalski Jr, Cory (Brittnee) Pierzchalski, James Pierzchalski, Joseph Pierzchalski, Cynthia Pierzchalski, Elizabeth, Charles Allen, Michael Allen, Rachel Sisson, Kimberly Sisson, and Terri Jo Sasson, many great grandchildren and a great great grandchild. In addition to her parents and husband, Geraldine was preceded in death daughters; Theresa Cox and Cathleen Sisson and a brother; Frederick Sigmund. A burial service for Geraldine will be held on October 31, 2020 at 12:30 at Aniwa Cemetery with Chaplain Dave officiating. Following the burial, a celebration of life will take place at the town hall in the Town of Hutchins.
