Germaine E. Persen

Germaine E. Persen, 84, of Antigo, died Saturday at her home. Germaine was born April 2, 1926 to the late Frank and Ann (Durkee) Ott in Antigo. She married Arthur T. Person. He predeceased her in 1995. Germaine operated a potato farm, managed rental apartments, and later managed the clothing department at Copp's Department Store. She was also a homemaker.Germaine was a member of United Methodist Church and Disabled American Veterans Auxilliary. She truly enjoyed gardening, bowling and sewing and time with her family and grandchildren.Germaine graduated from Antigo High School in 1944. Following graduation she worked at the Great Lakes Naval Base then returned to Antigo. Survivors include a daughter; Judy (Bob) Diercks of Antigo and a son; Dan Persen of Antigo; 5 grandchildren; Jane, Nikki, and Evan Person, Dr. Amanda Diercks and Calvin Diercks (special friend Greta Kjome) of Antigo.Germaine was preceded in death by a son Thomas A. Persen, a sister; Marge Sprecklin and a brother Gerald Ott. Funeral service will be Tuesday at 5:00PM at United Methodist Church. Visitation will be from 3:00 PM until the service at the church. Reverend Charles Strong will officiate.Interment will be in Elmwood Cemetery.
