Gladys A. Vacha

Gladys A. Vacha, lifelong resident of the Antigo area, died Jan. 23 at Eastview Medical and Rehabilitation. She was 90 years old.She was born March 1, 1918 in Antigo, the daughter of the late Joseph and Dorothy (Kakes) Stasek. On Aug. 23, 1941, she married Robert J. Vacha at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Antigo. He preceded her in death.Mrs. Vacha was a homemaker, and will be remembered as a loving wife, mother, and grandmother. She was a member of SS. Mary & Hyacinth Catholic Church. Mrs. Vacha was an avid gardener, and she especially loved her flowers. She was a member of the Antigo Garden Club. Survivors include 3 sons, Robert (Helen) of Fort Worth, TX, Gerald (Gladys) of Post Lake, Dale (Kathy) of Schofield; 7 grandchildren; and 9 great grandchildren.In addition to her husband and parents, she is preceded in death by a brother, Joseph Stasek, Jr., and 3 sisters, Alvina Cerny, Emma Novak, and Lydia Plzak.
