Glenda M. Schave

Glenda M. Schave passed away peacefully on June 29, 2024 at Rosalia Gardens under the care of LeRoyer Hospice. She was 84 years old.

Glenda was born on July 18, 1939 in Athens, WI to the late Arthur and Marie (Rodman) Mielke. She graduated from Athens High School, class of 1957. She went on to attend beauty school in Wausau.

In addition to working as a beautician, Glenda worked for Hickey’s floral and Freedom non-emergency medical van. She had a talent for ceramics and making baskets. She also enjoyed time on the road with her companion Allan Hanson. Glenda was known for her spunky attitude and sassy wit. Her pink hair was as bold and colorful as her personality, a testament to her fearless spirit and unique style.

Glenda is survived by daughters; Rhoda (John) Zupon of Deerbrook and Missy (Roy) Gallenberg of Bryant, grandchildren; Camden Zupon, Katy (Jeremy) Weber, Kimberly (William) Roesler, Maggie (significant other, Nick) Gallenberg, and Ryan Gallenberg, and great grandchildren; Nora, Aubrey, and Pierce Weber and Clara and Chase Roesler.

In addition to her parents, Glenda was preceded in death by her stepfather Erwin “Deke” Walter, former spouse Robert Schave, and special friend Allan Hanson.

A memorial service for Glenda will be held on Saturday, July 13, 2024 at 6:00 PM at Strasser-Roller Funeral Home with Pastor Wes Jedras officiating. Visitation will take place prior to the service, at the funeral home from 3:00 PM to 6:00 PM. Burial will take place at a later date at Trinity Cemetery in Athens, WI.
