Grace E. Schmitt, age 88, entered into eternal rest October 8, 2010. She was a lifelong resident of Elton and recently resided at Eastview Medical and Rehabilitation Center in Antigo.Grace was born August 21, 1922 to the late James and Mary Ellen (Jones) Lambert in the Town of Evergreen. On October 28, 1940 she married Waldemar Schmitt in Sheboygan, WI. He preceded her in death on March 23, 1986.Grace was a member of New Life Central Fellowship Church. A mother and homemaker, who enjoyed her Bible, Christian programs, her home and family. She always tried to put God first in her life.Survivors include six sons, Robert and Peter, Antigo, Wayne, Waupaca, Kenneth, Green Bay, Paul (Brenda), Manitowoc and Darrell (Lisa), Sparta; A step-son, Clarence (Pat), Mesa, AZ; five daughters, Rita (Thomas) Spencer, Waupaca, Beverly (William) Adkins, Manitowoc, Carol (Ronald) Cline, Antigo, Gail (George) Smallwood, Clarkson, KY and Janeane (Greg) Igl, Antigo. Also survived by 36 grandchildren, many great grandchildren great great grandchildren, a dear sister, LaVerne Muraski, Elton and many nieces and nephews.In addition to her husband, Waldemar, and her parents two daughters, Mary and Charlotte, two grandsons, five sisters and one brother preceded her in death.A funeral service will be held at New Life Central Fellowship Church Monday, October 11, 2010 at 11:00am. Visitation will be at the Strasser-Roller Funeral Home Sunday, October 10 from 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm and 9:30am until the time of service on Monday at the Church. Pastor Ervin Messer will officiate with burial to follow in the Town of Polar Cemetery.In lieu of flowers a memorial has been established in name.
