Harold E. Rife

Harold E. Rife, age 91, formerly of Lily, died Monday at Eastview Medical and Rehabilitation Center. Harold was born March 17, 1918 to the late George Adam and Ethyl (Mehaffy) Rife in Great Bend, Kansas. Harold married Geneva Schwindt on July 4, 1941. She survives and resides in Antigo.Prior to retiring to the Lily area, Mr. Rife lived in Great Bend, KS; Rush Center, KS; La Crosse, KS; and Milwaukee, WI.Mr. Rife was a member of Crandon Masonic Lodge 287 and Arbutus Lutheran Church. He served in the US Navy from 1942 to 1945.In addition to his wife, Harold is survived by 3 daughters, Jean M Rife of Brookline, MA, Jan (Marty Barnes) Rosenberg of Glendale, WI, and Joy Rife of Murphy, TX; 2 sons, Joe (Janet) Rife of Belmont, MA, and John (Cynthia) Rife of Elcho,WI; 9 grandchildren; and 3 great-grandchildren.Harold was preceded in death by an infant daughter, Mary Jo Rife; 3 brothers, George, J.W., and R.C. Rife; and an adopted sister, Norma Holmquist.In accordance with Harold's wishes no services will be held.
