Harold Sargent

Harold D. Sargent, 86, of Antigo died Wednesday at Eastview Medical and Rehabilitation Center under the care of LeRoyer Hospice. Mr. Sargent was born May 23, 1922 in Deerbrook to the late Laurence D. and Emma (Manthey) Sargent. On June 1, 1946 Harold was united in marriage to Mary Lou B. Carlson at St. John's Catholic Church in Antigo. Mr. Sargent was a graduate of Antigo High School Class of 1939. Following graduation he worked for seven years in California in the aircraft industry, later returning to the Langlade County area. Upon his return he served as the executive secretary for the Wisconsin Potato and Vegetable Growers Association for about 20 years.Mr. Sargent was a member of Faith United Church of Christ. He was a volunteer at Langlade Hospital assisting with the Life Line for many years.Survivors, in addition to his wife, include a daughter Diane Sargent of Saginaw, MN, a son Daniel (Janey) Sargent of Apalachin, NY and 2 grandchildren Eric and Patrick. A son James preceded him in death in 1955.
