Helen Hintz

January 30, 1928 — July 26, 2024

Helen Hintz, devoted and faithful servant of the lord, 96 years young, entered into eternal rest on July 26th, 2024 under the care of her family and the staff at Rosalia Gardens and LeRoyer Hospice.

She was born on January 30th, 1928, to the late Fred and Emma (Schultz) Kieper in Fessenden, North Dakota. She was united in marriage to the love of her life, Rueben Hintz on October 23rd, 1949 at Concordia Lutheran Church in Fessenden, ND. He preceded her in death on March 30th, 1986.

Helen was employed at Club 77, Copps Food Center in the bakery department (where she often snuck her grandchildren cookies), and Lakeside Pharmacy where she was able to share her famous fish fry recipe with those in the Antigo community. Helen had a knack for cooking and gardening.

She was a faithful and active member of St. Matthews Lutheran Church in Deerbrook, WI. She could be found actively serving in the Ladies Aide, Altar Guild, church choir, and as finance secretary on the church board. She was also involved in the World Relief Quilting, Orphan Grain Train, and local bible classes. Helen spent her time volunteering at the local nursing home, cherishing time with her family (especially her grandchildren and great grandchildren), tending to her abundant flower and vegetable gardens, and caring for her birds.

She is survived and will forever be missed by sons; Kurt (Wendy) Hintz of Hartford, Keith “Reuben” (Maxine) Hintz of Deerbrook, daughter-in-law Jan Hintz of Kansas City, grandchildren; Andrew (Jennifer) Hintz, Kandyce (Jon) Mosher, Nathan (Karen) Hintz, Jessica (Kevin) Huff, granddaughter-in-law Carrie Hintz, and step grandchildren; Rachel (Justin) Whitaker and Amber (David) Scherrer, great grandchildren Anna Mosher, Brantley Hintz, Jacelynn Hintz, and brother-in-law Everett Johnson. She is further survived by many close family and friends.

In addition to her parents and husband, Helen was preceded in death by son Kenneth Hintz, daughter-in-law Sharon Hintz, grandson Alex Hintz, and sisters Margaret (Walter) Grauman, Mary (Leonard) Grauman, Arlene (Henry) Albrecht, Delores Johnson, and close friend Elva Brandt.
