Helen J. Seis, age 83, of Antigo died September 17, 2014 at Langlade Hospital surrounded by her family and friends. Mrs. Seis was born on August 27, 1931 in Antigo to Lukas & Anna (Trochta) Sikora. Helen attended Mayflower Grade School and graduated from the Antigo High School in 1949. On August 2nd, 1950 she was united in marriage to James A. Seis. Mr. Seis preceded her in death on March 4th, 2014. Mrs. Seis was employed as a cook at St. Mary Catholic School and at the KC Hall. For many years she worked for her father and brother-in-law in potatoes. Mrs. Seis loved being with family and children and baking kolaches & perogies for them, playing cards, singing with her sisters in Czech and watching her favorite baseball team, the Brewers. Mrs. Seis was a member of SS. Mary and Hyacinth Church in Antigo as well as a member of the Rosary Society. Mrs Seis is survived by 2 daughters, Suzy (Ken) Uttecht of Birnamwood, Joanne (David) Chrudimsky of Antigo, 2 sons, John (Julie) Seis of Antigo and Father Michael Seis of the Dominican Republic, a son-in-law Jon Nousen of Birnamwood, 2 sisters, Frances Zimmerman, Antigo, Mary (Leonard) Wild, Antigo, a brother-in-law William Seis of Antigo, sister in laws, Mary Ann Sikora of St. Cloud, WI, Arlene Sikora of Cudahy and Alice Kloes of Antigo. 13 grandchildren, Scott (Timmi) Uttecht, Amy (Arlen) Meverden, Luke (Amanda) Uttecht, Ryan (Sadie) Nousen, Chad (Shelly) Nousen, Cory (Hillery) Chrudimsky, Aaron (Cheryl) Chrudimsky, Casey Chrudimsky, Sara Chrudimsky, Kimberly ( Sean) Goodwin, Eric (Rachel) Seis, Cale Seis, and Kyle Seis, 19 great grandchildren, 5 step grandchildren, 3 step great great grandchildren, along with extended family and many friends. In addition to her parents and husband, Mrs. Seis was preceded in death by a daughter, Jayne Nousen, her sister, Anne Fleischman and five brothers; Felix, Frank, Laddie, Joe and John. A mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday at 10:00 a.m. at Ss. Mary & Hyacinth's Catholic Church. Father Michael Seis will officiate. Visitation will be on Friday from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Strasser-Roller Funeral Home and on Saturday from 8:45 to 9:45 a.m. at the funeral home. There will be a wake service at 6:00 p.m. Friday at the funeral home with the Knights of Columbus Rosary to follow. Interment at Queen of Peace Cemetery following mass. Special thank you to her caregivers Kelsey & Diedra and to her neighbor and dear friend, Carol, for all the love and care she gave to Helen. A memorial will be established in her name.
