Hilda Falk

Hilda Falk, 84, of Antigo, died Sat. Feb. 21 at Langlade Hospital in the care of her daughter Shirley and LeRoyer Hospice. Hilda was born Dec. 3, 1924 in Douglas County, the daughter of the late Matt and Mary (Orava) Nykanen. She married Leroy Falk in 1943 in Superior. He survives.She worked as a licensed practical nurse at Middle River Health Care. A former resident of Poplar and Maple, she was active in Maple Community Affairs. She also enjoyed quilting, gardening, and bird watching. Hilda loved visits with her family, and was known for sharing her plants with everybody.She was a member of Faith Lutheran Church in Maple.Survivors, in addition to her husband, Leroy, include 1 daughter, Shirley Eklof of Antigo; 3 sons, Roger (Dianne) of Superior, David (Elaine) of Rice Lake, and Clarence of Dallas, TX; 1 brother, George Nykanen of Poplar; 9 grandchildren; 12 great grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her parents and 12 siblings.Private services were held, with burial at Faith Lutheran Church Cemetery.
