Iola "Pat" McCorkle, of Polar, died Sunday, July 28, 2019 at Rosalia Gardens under the care of LeRoyer Hospice. She was 94 years old. She was born March 17, 1925 in Milwaukee, daughter of the late Cecil and Hazel (Boers) Branham. She married Gerald Nels McCorkle on March 29, 1946 and he preceded her in death on January 9, 2004. Mrs. McCorkle was a homemaker, and she dairy farmed with her family in Hiles before moving to Antigo, and later Polar. She was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. Survivors include 3 daughters, Roxanne (Donald) Saulnier of Salt Lake City, UT, Mae (William) Chaney of Crandon, and Margaret "Peg" DeHart of Winamacca, NV; 2 sons, Gerald Ellsworth (Harriet) McCorkle of Polar, and Vernon (Anne) McCorkle of Fallon, NV; 21 grandchildren; 54 great grandchildren; 9 great-great grandchildren; and 2 brothers, Dean Branham of Colorado, and Mark Branham of Oklahoma. In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by a daughter, Debbie Rae McCorkle; a son, Lee Earl McCorkle; 2 sisters, Sharon Sterling and Ramona Merlin; and a grandson Anthony Lee McCorkle. In accordance with her wishes, no public services will be held. Burial will take place at a later date at Argonne Cemetery.
