Ione E. Orgeman, age 95, of Antigo died Sunday August 11, 2013 at KTCR-Eastview. Mrs. Orgeman was born in Antigo on March 2, 1918 to the late August and Elizabeth (Becker) Haferbecker. She was united in marriage to William A. Orgeman on September 14, 1940. He preceded her in death in 1978. Ione was a graduate of Antigo High School Class of 1936. She continued her education at the vocational school studying business. She was employed by Montgomery Wards, Schroepfer Music Store, and then served as Langlade County Register of Deeds for 14 years. A lifelong resident of Antigo, Ione was dedicated to the community, serving on the Langlade County Board for 8 years, the City Council for 12 years, was a member Langlade County Democratic Party, serving as their chairperson, and the Antigo Public Library Board. She was also a member of Business and Professional Women for 35 years, a member of the Langlade Hospital Auxiliary, and Sweet Adelines. Mrs. Orgeman was a member of SS. Mary & Hyacinth Catholic Church. She was an avid reader and enjoyed growing flowers and plants. Her greatest pleasure was time with family and friends. Survivors include 4 sons; William (Kathy) Orgeman of Green Bay, Dennis Orgeman of Antigo, Robert (Merri) Orgeman of Rhinelander, and Timothy (Peg) Orgeman of Rhinelander; 10 grandchildren; Michael (Tina) Orgeman, Patrick Orgeman, Jacqueline (Rick) Kummers, Thomas Orgeman, Steven Orgeman, Christopher (Stacey) Orgeman, Kerri Orgeman, Erin Orgeman and her significant other Joey Rozanski, Teague (Amanda) Orgeman, and Keeley Orgeman; 11 great grandchildren; Zoe, Holly, Jordan, Sophia, Ava, Jack, Isabella, Noah, Elliott, Max, and Alexis; and 5 step-great grandchildren, Gabrielle, Melanie, Kimberly, Jacquelyn, and Samantha. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a sister Betty Dollevoet, 2 brothers; one in infancy and Gordon Haferbecker. Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Wednesday at 11:00 AM at SS. Mary & HyacinthCatholic Church. Visitation will be on Tuesday from 4:00- 8:00 PM and on Wednesday from 10:00 AM until 10:45 AM at Strasser-Roller Funeral Home. A prayer vigil will be held at 7:30 PM on Tuesday at the funeral home. Interment will be in Queen of Peace Cemetery. The family of Ione would like to express their gratitude to KTRC- Eastview, Dr. Turnbull, Father Hoffmann, Naomi Stamper, and especially Mary Jo Ninnemann, whose guidance and comfort was greatly appreciated.
