Jack Charles Smith, age 68, of Plover died October 11, 2022 at Wausau Aspirus Hospital.
Jack was born February 20, 1954 to the late Charles and Jean (Pantle) Smith.
Jack grew up in Pelican Lake and was a graduate of Elcho High School. He worked in residential and commercial construction. He worked locally throughout the Langlade County area, and traveled overseas to Taipei, Taiwan, and New Guinea for several years. Upon returning to the states, he joined his son's construction crew at R. Smith Construction in Plover until his retirement.
Jack enjoyed his work in construction and time with his children and grandchildren. He was the tow boat driver for the Crandon Ski Serpents and drove in the National Figure 8 Barefoot Championship for many years. He also enjoyed coaching hockey and was instrumental in the construction of the Langlade County Multi-Purpose Building.
Survivors include his mother Jean Smith, three children; Heather Hall of Marathon City, Ryan (Janelle) Smith of Plover, Melanie (Shane) Tulowitzky of Rhinelander, grandchildren: Devin and Kyler Hall, Alec and Morgan Smith, Jacques, Finn, Van, Mia, Belief, Noella Tulowitzky, brothers; Allen Silva, Daniel (Vickie) Smith, David (Margaret) Smith, and Michael (Liz) Smith.
In accordance with Jack's wishes no services will be held.
Strasser-Roller Funeral Home is assisting the family.
