Jack Spencer of Pickerel died at his home Saturday, May 5, 2012 under the care of his family and Aspirus Hospice. He was 76 years old. He was born July 31, 1935 in the Kent area of Langlade County to the late George and Mima (Arrowood) Spencer. He married Bonnie Holz in Rhinelander in 1956, and she survives. Mr. Spencer was a veteran of the US Army, serving in Germany. He was owner/operator of a trucking business, and also had an amusement machine business. He enjoyed hunting and fishing with his companions, John Spencer and Jeff Wunrow. In addition to his wife, survivors include a daughter, Patricia (Jeff Wanty) Simmons of Post Lake; 3 sons, Jack (Lori) Spencer of Pearson, Bruce (Cheryl Geiger) Spencer of Antigo, and Scott (Lisa) Spencer of Post Lake; 4 sisters, Katherine Stollings of Antigo, Nan (Bob) Christensen of Stevens Point, Bythe Wimble of McFarland, Gloria (Don) Arndt; 6 grandchildren, Jack Spencer, Nicole Schreiber, Lindsey (Josh) Deisinger, Dustin (Dallas) Mueller, Kurt Mueller, and Jeffy (Danielle) Wunrow; 3 great-grandchildren, Brandon Wunrow, Sabrina DeAngelis, and Brynnlee Deisinger; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, 4 sisters, and 6 brothers. In accordance with his wishes, no services will be held.
