James F. Gable

James F. Gable, formerly of Post Lake, passed away at his home in Rhinelander, WI on March 13, 2023 at the age of 87.

James was born on August 10, 1935 in Forest Park, IL to the late Thomas and Vivian (Moore) Gable. He was united in marriage to Judith M. Gable on January 19, 1957 at St. Mary of Celle, Berwyn, IL. She preceded him in death on August 22, 2014.

James graduated from Morton High School in Cicero, IL and served in the U. S. Army from 1957-1963. He began his working career as a truck driver for his family’s trucking business, Gable Express Company, Cicero, IL. Most recently he worked as a maintenance supervisor for the Rhinelander, WI School District until his retirement in 2000.

Survivors include daughters, Susan (Walter) Wegloski of Park City, IL, Carla (Doug) Boyd of Ayr, Canada, Ruth (Ryan) Ready of Harvard, IL, 2 sons, James (Karen) Gable of Naples, FL and Christopher (Diane) Gable of Rhinelander, 11 grandchildren, and 7 great grandchildren.

A burial service will take place at a later date at Bluff City Cemetery in Elgin, IL.
