James Frank Suick, 89, passed to our Lord on June 10th, 2014. He was preceded in death by his father Frank Vincent Suick and his mother Lila Boldt Suick. He is survived by his wife of 69 years, Phyllis Suick (née Harrington); his three daughters Joan Suick, Jan (son-in-law Scott Eaby), and Jean (son-in-law John von Arx); son Tim (daughter-in-law Barb Suick); eight grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; a brother John "Pete" (sister-in-law Ruth) Suick, and a brother-in-law Brother Killian. He graduated from Antigo High School in 1942, and attended Marquette University. He was a World War II veteran having served in the US Coast Guard. Jim was a community leader bringing industry and jobs to Antigo. He was a passionate entrepreneur beginning with the Musky Bar and Restaurant, manufacturer of J & J Shuffleboards, Suick Musky Lure Manufacturing Co., built the Antigo Drive In Theatre, owned and operated the Palace Theatre, started Suick Real Estate providing residential and commercial real estate services, was a distributor of Great Lakes Homes and VP Commercial Buildings. He developed Suburban Acres and Mayfair neighborhoods. He also opened Furniture World in Antigo, Merrill and Eagle River. Jim was involved in Kiwanis Club and a former member of the Antigo Unified School District Board. Jim was an avid fisherman, card player, and stock market enthusiast. He enjoyed spending his winters in the Villages, Florida. His greatest joys were his philanthropic charities and spending time with his family and friends. A memorial mass will take place Saturday at 11:00 a.m. at Ss. Mary & Hyacinth Catholic Church, with Fr. Jeremiah Worman officiating. Visitation will be 9:30-11:00 a.m. at the church. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made for educational materials to local parochial schools or a charity of your choice.
