James “Jim” George Fischer of Antigo, passed away on February 16, 2026 at Rennes Health and Rehab at the age of 92.
Jim was born on December 25, 1933 in Antigo to the late George and Anita (Fisher) Fischer. He proudly served his country as a United States Marine. In September of 2015, Jim was able to join the honor flight to Washington DC. Jim worked as a tool and die maker for Mercury Marine. In his free time, he enjoyed working on and collecting cars, traveling, and joining his friends for their 3:00 PM coffee hour.
Jim was a father to six; Mary (Al) Lambert, Tom (Lisa) Fischer, Don (Sue) Fischer, Sue (Harry) Korbisch, Dan Fischer, Jackie Fischer. He was a grandfather to eight; Ryan (Ashley) Kirst, Tiffani (Cole) Kary, Chantelle Korbisch, Parker Korbisch, Cody Machalk, Brandon Fischer, Austin Fischer, and Tayllor Fischer. He is survived by great grandchildren; Averie, Carson, Elizabeth, Colton, and Liam. He is also survived by two brothers; Ted Fischer and Phillip (Michelle) Fischer.
In addition to his parents, Jim was preceded in death by great grandchildren Brantlee and Grayson.
A visitation for Jim will be held on Thursday, February 19, 2026 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at Strasser-Roller Funeral Home. A prayer will follow, before processing to Elmwood Cemetery for Jim’s burial and Military Honors.
