James "Jim" Norem, age 82 of Antigo, died Friday at Langlade Hospital under the care of his family and LeRoyer Hospice. Mr. Norem was born on January 31, 1929 in Bryant to the late Harold and Irma (Pacer) Norem. On May 21, 1955 he married Doris Kolpack at St. Peter's Lutheran Church in Polar. She survives. Mr. Norem was self-employed owning and operating a body shop, Norem's Repair Shop form 1963-1991. He also was a rural postal carrier. Mr. Norem was a member of St. Peter's Lutheran Church in Polar, where he held many offices within the church. He was a graduate of Antigo High School class of 1947. He then served in the US Marine Corp. Survivors in addition to his wife, include a daughter, Catherine Norem of Antigo and a son, Matthew (Janis) Norem of Green Bay; 2 sisters, Peg (Phillip) Thomae of Antigo and Joan White of Oklahoma; 2 brothers, Jack (Emily) Norem of Bowler and Harold (Joann) Norem of Lenexa City, KS; 4 grandchildren, Joshua (Jackie) Norem , Caitlin Norem, Grant and Lea Hilton, and a great grandson Nicholas Lenzner. Mr. Norem was preceded in death by a brother Larry. A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday at St. Peter's Lutheran church in Polar. Visitation will be from 10:00 a.m. until the service on Tuesday at the church. Burial will be in the St. Peter's Church Cemetery. Reverend Donald Engebretson will officiate.
