James "Jim" Schulta, of Antigo, died unexpectedly Sat., Oct. 24, 2009 at Langlade Hospital. He was 72 years old. He was born April 27, 1937 in Stevens Point, son of the late Walter and Martha (Thrun) Schulta. On Aug. 8, 1959 he married Patricia "Pat" Pliska at St. Peter's Catholic Church in Stevens Point. Mrs. Schulta survives and resides in Antigo.Mr. Schulta was a 1955 graduate of PJ Jacobs Sr. High and attended Wausau Technical College. He was employed as a tool and die maker at RB Tool Corporation in Menomonee Falls. He previously resided in Stevens Point, Milwaukee, and Cedarburg. After retirement, he moved to Antigo, where he and his wife lived for 10 years as active members of the community. Jim and Pat were always there for each other, and they especially grew close during his retirement. They recently celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary on Aug. 8, 2009. Mr. Schulta was a member of St. John's Catholic Church, where he assisted with the annual fish fry, funeral dinners, the annual Fall Festival, and the International Food Festival. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, ice fishing, four wheeling, and bird watching. Mr. Schulta especially loved being at the cabin in Eagle River with his family. The time spent with his very special dog, Brook, was especially important to him. When it came to building and fixing things around the home, he always took the time to do quality work. He participated in bowling league and Friday senior cribbage.Survivors, in addition to his wife, include a daughter, Michelle (special friend Craig Cigel) Schulta of Antigo; 2 sons, Mitch (friend Jayne Croatt) of Cedarburg, and Mike (Lynn) of Cedarburg; a sister Joyce Dudzik of Stevens Point; 8 grandchildren, Jennifer, Macey, Matt, Jeremy, Kristi, Josh, Justin, and Jesse; dear friends, Bill and Linda Skinner, Jim and Midge Tatro, Red and Judy Turney, and Jim Steltzer.He is preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Richard; and a brother in law, Stanley Dudzik.
