James P. "Moxie" Ruf

James P. "Moxie" Ruf, of Antigo died Mon. July 13 at Eastview Medical and Rehabilitation. He was 67 years old.He was born March 14, 1942 in Waukesha, son of the late Robert and Jeanette (Beattie) Ruf. He married Linda Schmelter in July 1971 at Menominee, MI, and she preceded him in death in 1995. He graduated from Antigo High School in 1960. Mr. Ruf worked at City Gas Company, Speaker Motion, Bennet's Electric Motor Service and Jerome Filbrandt Plumbing and Heating.James was a long time Antigo resident. He enjoyed playing golf and bowling. He served as president of the bowling league and served as union steward at City Gas Company during his employment there.Mr. Ruf is survived by a daughter Terri Lynn and a son Ronald James; a granddaughter Samantha; 2 sisters Judy (Doug) Sylfest of Antigo and Carol (Jim) Anderson of Brooksville, FL; a brother Bob (Jane) Ruf of Florida and a sister-in-law Donna Ruf of Antigo.James was preceded in death by a sister Mary Wetzel and a brother Bill Ruf.
