James P. "Jim" Pozorski died Thurs., Nov. 24, 2011 in Deerbrook at the age of 75. He was born March 23, 1936 in Milwaukee, son of the late Julian Paul and Pauline (Slominski). He married Evalyn Marie Skusek on June 24, 1961, and the couple recently celebrated 50 years of marriage. Mrs. Pozorski survives and resides in Antigo. Mr. Pozorski graduated from Boy's Technical Academy in Milwaukee. He worked as a truck driver for Hometown in Milwaukee and Fermanich Fuel in Antigo. He was a devoted Catholic, serving as an altar boy in his youth, and later attending Holy Family Catholic Church in Elcho and St. Wencel's Catholic Church in Neva. Mr. Pozorski was member of Teamsters Local #200 and served in the National Guard. He loved to tell stories to family and friends, calling himself "Jimmy the Polack". He was proud of his grandchildren and all their accomplishments. His family will remember how he always marked the date on all his things. In addition to his wife, Evalyn, he is survived by a daughter, Linda (Christopher) Berg of Bryant; a son, Gregory Pozorski of Summit Lake; and 5 grandchildren, Jonathon (Sheila) Pozorski of Little Chute, Justin Berg of Phoenix, Brandon (Jenalea) Berg of Deerbrook, Cameron (fiancé Luisa) Berg of Bryant, and Kaelyn Berg of Bryant; and 2 great-grandchildren, Edwin Paul Pozorski, and David Scott Berg. He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Margaret Conley. A funeral service will be held at 10:00 a.m. Mon. at Strasser-Roller Funeral Home, with Rev. Omer Kelley officiating. Visitation will be 4-8 Sun. and 9-10 Mon. at the funeral home. Burial will be at a later date in Lakeside Cemetery of Summit Lake. A memorial will be established in his name.
