Jamie Lea Kreitzer

Jamie Lea Kreitzer “Jim” passed away on June 19, 2023 at the age of 46 following a short battle with brain cancer. She was under the care of her loving family and fiancé Steve Kreitzer.

Jamie was born on January 18, 1977 in Rhinelander to Terri (Schuh) Schabo and Terry (Linda) Leffel.

Jamie graduated from Crandon High School and went on to receive a Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology. She worked as a special education teacher for the Mosinee School District before following her passion to breed and raise Labrador Retrievers. She devoted her time to caring for not only the puppies, but their owners by learning and teaching all she could to raise the best and most loved Labs.

Jamie enjoyed fishing, duck hunting, and tending bar at Schuh’s and Mia’s. She most treasured time spent with her dogs, family, and friends.

In addition to her parents and fiancé, Jamie is survived by sons Seth Steliga of Mattoon and Ethan (Madi Forsch) Steliga of Minnesota, stepchildren; Kyle (Megan) Holtz, Kenzie (Joe Roth) Connor, Cody (Kaylee) Kreitzer, Steven (Tom Moreno) Kreitzer, and Cassandra Kreitzer, and a grandchild on the way. She is further survived by her extended family and friends who will miss her dearly, including James and Lisa Sterk, who cared for and were there for Jamie and her family during this most difficult time.

Jamie was preceded in death by her Grandpa Jerry Schuh, who knew Jamie as Jim, and her Grandma Carol Schuh and her paternal grandparents Mac and Pat Leffel.

A Memorial Mass for Jamie will be held at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Pickerel on Friday, June 30, 2023 at 12:00 PM. Visitation will take place prior to the service at the church from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM.

In honor of Jamie’s love for dogs, memorials in Jamie’s name can be directed to the Langlade County Humane Society or humane society of your choice, in lieu of flowers.
