Janet Kay Devore of Sun Prairie, formerly of Antigo, passed away unexpectedly at Aspirus Langlade Hospital on June 5, 2026. She was 70 years old.
Janet was born on December 19, 1955 in Antigo to Beatrice (Kakes) and the late Maurice Devore. She was united in marriage to Clair Krueger on September 28, 1991.
Janet graduated from Antigo High School and went on to receive her bachelor’s degree from UW LaCross. From there, she went on to obtain her master’s degree from UW Madison. She devoted her career to being a social worker. She worked for the State of Wisconsin, worked as a coordinator for Calumet County in Chilton, WI, and developed and certified Gateway Community Support Program in Madison, WI.
Janet enjoyed reading, line dancing, hiking, traveling especially to Arizona in the winters, listening to music, and attending live performances. She was a phenomenal cook and participated in a gourmet cooking group. Many might not know, but Janet also played the saxophone. Janet was loved by so many. She was known for her sense of humor, creativity, and patience. She was always thinking of others and making them feel welcomed. With her big heart, she was caring and compassionate.
In addition to her husband Clair of Sun Prairie and mother Beatrice of Antigo, she is survived by brothers Dave (Terri) Devore of Antigo and Gary (Evonne) Devore of Antigo, many nieces, nephews, and members of the Krueger family. She is also survived by many dear friends.
Visitation for Janet will take place at Strasser-Roller Funeral Home on Wednesday, June10th from 9:30 AM to 10:30 AM. A memorial service will follow with Pastor Joanne “Jodi” Haier officiating. In a caring last gift, Janet was able to donate 70 gifts through organ donation.
