Janet W. Johnson

Janet W. Johnson, 85, of Antigo died Tuesday July 24, 2012 at her home under the care of LeRoyer Hospice. Mrs. Johnson was born in Elmhurst, IL on December 4, 1926 to the late Hans and Maria (Hansen) Wentzer, Danish immigrants. Mrs. Johnson was a graduate of York High School in Elmhurst, IL. She went on to do secretarial work in Chicago, typing legal documents in several foreign languages. On November 1, 1947, Janet was united in marriage to William Johnson at St. Peter's United Church of Christ in Elmhurst. In 1990 the couple moved to Antigo. Janet was a member of United Methodist Church here in Antigo. In addition to her husband, survivors include 2 daughters; Beth (William) Bockes of Antigo and Carol (William) Seith of Hinsdale, Il and son Mark Johnson of Denver,CO; 6 grandchildren Derek and Max Bockes, Matt and Will Johnson, and Sebastian and Calvin Seith, and a sister LaVerne Nielsen of Glenview, IL. Memorials in Janet's name may be directed to Alzheimer's Association and REGI. In accordance with Janet's wishes no formal services will be held. Strasser-Roller Funeral Home is serving the family.
