Juanita Leath Arrowood of Pickerel passed away on June 19, 2026 under the care of her family and LeRoyer Hospice. She was 97 years old.
Juanita was born on September 12, 1928 in Moorehead, KY to the late Clester A. and Rosie I. (Brown) Fraley. She was united in marriage to George E. Arrowood on January 7, 1946 in Anamosa, IA. He preceded her in death on March 18, 1991.
Juanita dedicated her life to being a devoted homemaker in addition to building many careers that reflected her strong work ethic. She worked at Continental Foundry in Indiana as a welder and inspector, served as a waitress at Tesch’s Supper Club, and worked at Wausau Iron Works as a welder. She founded Arrowood Employee Benefits Services and most recently owned and operated Black Steer Supper Club until the age of 85.
Juanita enjoyed socializing, thrifting, and cooking for others. She was known for her generosity and willingness to help others, never hesitating to lend a helping hand. She was always the life of the party and will be remembered for her distinctive laugh, which always brought a smile to those around her. Juanita always participated in and enjoyed being a part of her community throughout her life. She was honored as citizen of the year in Wausau in 1976. She was a union member and also involved with AFL-CIO.
Juanita is survived by a son George A. (Debbie) Arrowood of Pickerel, grandchildren Tom (Michelle) Arrowood, Kris (Amy) Arrowood, and Brian (Amanda) Arrowood, great grandchildren Kyra, Riley, Andi Jo, Taylor, Gabe, Everliegh, Landon, and Thatcher, step grandchildren Natalie, Olivia, and Liam, great great grandchildren Jayce, Miyah Mae, Ariyah, Arlie, and Kayson, sister Georgia Kuchta of Indiana, and many nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held on Friday, June 26, 2026 from 9:30 AM to 11:00 AM at Strasser-Roller Funeral Home. A funeral service for Juanita will take place at 11:00 AM at the funeral home with Father James Baraniak officiating. Burial will follow at Bent Cemetery.
