Jeanette Guenthner

Anita "Jeanette" Guenthner, 105, formerly of Antigo, passed peacefully Tuesday morning, August 11 at Aspirus Hospice House in Wausau.

She was born May 8, 1921, in the Town of Rolling to the late Irvin A. and Josephine (Yindra) Brandow. She graduated from Clover Valley School in 1935 and attended Antigo High School.

On July 3, 1939, she married Harvey O. Guenthner in Waukon, Iowa. He preceded her in death on August 25, 1998. Together, she and Harvey were among the Antigo area's pioneer potato growers.

Jeanette volunteered many hours of her time for Stonecroft Ministries.

Survivors include two daughters, Darlene Pergolski and Cynthia Guenthner, both of Wausau; three grandchildren, Tami (Rick) Mueller and Rick (Catherine) Pergolski of Wausau and Tina (Steve) Laurent of New Berlin; eight great-grandchildren, Aaron Mueller of Mankato, Minnesota, Alexander (Sarah) Laurent of Berlin, Germany, Zachary (fiancée Jamie) Laurent of Pleasant Prairie, Benjamin (fiancée Alysha) Laurent of Milwaukee, Megan Laurent of New Berlin, and Breanna, Jay R and Olivia Pergolski of Wausau; and a great-great-granddaughter, Emma Lou Laurent of Berlin, Germany.

In addition to her parents and her husband, she was preceded in death by a sister, Lorraine Schwingle; three brothers, Demaine, Irvin W. and Darwin Brandow; and a son-in-law, Richard Pergolski.

Burial will be in Elmwood Cemetery. A private graveside service will be held at a date to be determined.

Jeanette's family thanks the staff at Aspirus Hospice House for their kindness in caring for our dear mother. A special thanks goes to Chaplain Will for his prayers and words of encouragement.
