Jeanette (Reinke) Tews of Antigo died Mon., Jan. 11 at her home under the care of her family and LeRoyer Hospice. She was 88 years old. She was born June 21, 1921 in Wausau, daughter of the late Harold and Alice (Dustin) Reinke. Mrs. Tews was a 1939 graduate of Antigo High School. She married Walter Tews on June 10, 1942 at Calvary Lutheran Church in Antigo. After their marriage, she and her husband lived in Texas for 3 years before returning to the area. She worked on area potato farms, and was later employed by Langlade County Social Services. She was a member of St. Peter's Lutheran Church in Polar. She enjoyed her children, grandchildren, friends, and neighbors at Pine Meadow.Survivors include 4 daughters, Sybil Tews of Milwaukee, Linda (Tom) Hackbarth of Antigo, Evonne (Gary) Devore of Antigo, and Jean (Jeff) Stadelman of Buffalo, NY; 2 sons, Rev. Tom (Pat) Tews of Crystal Lake, IL, and John (Sue) Tews of Antigo; 2 sisters, Rene Thurston of Green Bay, and Nancy (Bruce) Ehret of Arizona; a sister-in-law Shirley Reinke of Manitowoc; a brother-in-law Bill Mahlock; 12 grandchildren; and 8 great-grandchildren.In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, Hal Reinke; 3 sisters, Elaine Price, Diane Carrington, and Mary Louise Mahlock; and 3 infant grandchildren.
